Second Printing Errors

No matter how many different proofreaders and editors review a book before it is published, some errors are going slip by. The following errors have been noted in the second printing.

  • Chapter 5 p. 41: "said the squire said" should be "the squire said"
  • Chapter 7 p. 55: "E. S. Sherriford" should be "E. G. Sherrinford"
  • Chapter 9 p. 68: "I do not why" should be "I do not know why"
  • Chapter 13 p. 90: "Moriarty ask of" should be "Moriarty asked of"

Due to a computer glitch some portions of the book were assigned to the American English dictionary and some were assigned to the British English dictionary. The result was that the book ended up a hodgepodge of British and American spellings. Some words were spelled both ways. This has been corrected. In the first two printings some of the following words had the American spelling (left) rather than the intended British spelling.
